Training fleet boats (Topaz's and Omega) may be loaned to individual RFYC Members for specified RFYC Sail and Race Events during the 2011 Season. The loan of these boats is designed to encourage novices, particularly youngsters, to participate in RFYC sailing events. However, as Council is accountable to the membership for the proper management of Club assets and, in view of the training fleet being a significant capital outlay, it is considered fair and reasonable that the boats’ use is covered by an undertaking that protects the Club from financial risk and maintains the integrity and condition of the training fleet.

So that boats can remain available for the general use of the Youth Group during Activities Weekends, and other RFYC training events, loan periods will cover the specified event (eg Findhorn Regatta / Findhorn Week) only. Generally, and particularly for the more popular events, boats will be loaned on a ‘first come, first served’ basis; however, the Youth Group Leader will have the final say regarding the loan of boats and will take into account the requirements of the Youth Group before allowing boats to be loaned out to individuals.
